This show was a minor milestone for the band: all five original members onstage together for the first time in over a year, the last show with Jon on Drums for the foreseeable future, and the performance of the material that would have made up our first album, had things gone according to plan. And that's the real story.

The band started recording songs for their planned debut, "pioneers of the soviet avant guard" as a five piece, but during the two years of on again, off again recording changed lineups at least four times, always with one or more member leaving for personal reasons, the rest reshuffling, then shows and life getting in the way. By the time the music was on "tape" and ready to go, the songs no longer really reflected what we wanted to do, so the decision was made to shelf it.

Most of the songs on this set are road-tested set staples from the era where we recorded them. A few never actually have been played onstage before. And Everyone had learned a few things and improved between their writing and this show. The result is a really solid performance of a good collection of songs that otherwise might not have been available for our fans to hear.

This is the "missing link" (sasquatch joke there) between our early eps and the 'wooky waggin' era noise. Someday, the full "Pioneers" album will be available, but until there here's a great look at the "classic" noise lineup playing the hell out of these songs. Enjoy!
